CBD is an abbreviation for cannibidiol. CBD is a chemical that is found in Marijuana plants. CBD naturally does not contain THC, which is the active ingredient in Marijuana that makes you high. CBD can be used in oil in capsules, oil bases for vaporizers, tinctures, food items, and beauty products such as bath bombs or lotions. CBD is not intoxicating or psychoactive. Proponents of CBD oil and other CBD products claim that it can be used to treat conditions such as chronic pain, inflammation, migranes, epilepsy, autoimmune diseases, depression, and anxiety. Right now the only CBD product approved by the Food and Drug Administration is a prescription oil called Epidiolex. It’s approved to treat two types of epilepsy. CBD use also carries some risks. The side effects of CBD are, dry mouth, diarrhea, reduced appetite, drowsiness and fatigue. CBD can also interact with other medications you’re taking, such as blood thinners.
